Sharing of Arcana

Hello, all,

I'd like to try to get an spell-sharing system going. Does anyone know how persistent that chest on the first floor of the guild is? If it lasts between resets and doesn't reset contents, we could use it as a mailbox to drop scrolls for each other. I know personally that there are a few spells I'd like that I don't have.

Any ideas?

That seems like a great idea! Or what about a communal guild chest to share other goodies?

Stacking items and containers do not store in persistent storage systems. The only current way to acquire all of the scribe-able spells is to meet with another mage and spend a good chunk of gold and time going through them all one-by-one.

That said, I am happy to meet you on my Mage (I have 2) and scribe the entirety of my known spells for you.

I live and work unusual hours. You'll have to schedule a time with me, so please include your time zone if you want to do that.

I really like the idea.
The Arcane Society should not reset until server reboot. But since there can always be a server crash or an irregular reboot its maybe not a good idea to store scribed scrolls in there for a longer time.
It would be great if we get an option to scribe letters in game. You could put your request letter in the box and if someone has the spell you are looking for he sends you a tell.

Ghost, Brian? Is it possible to make such a letter-writing feature in game? Its a bit similar to the former idea of an ingame blackboard but I guess the blackboard is much harder to realize.

If chests are too finicky, we could have an NPC vendor who buys and sells scrolls from players for 0gp, to act as a go-between. Granted, it would reset with the server, but there aren't a ton of good solutions to storage.

Or, we could just have a weekly meet-up or something. Trade scrolls and wands and whatnot, and get a few RP XPs.

The weekly meet would probably solve this issue quickly and easily. There is a message board also, that can announce these trading times in Trinity where you log in.

Just my 2 cents.

Do you already have a suggestion for a good weekly meeting time, cervantes?
If you make this happen I will promote you to the next rank in the Arcane Society.

I'll ask around in-game across several time slots and see what kind of response I get. I'm on vacation now, so I can hit the morning crowd and the evening crowd and see if any times/days materialize. I'll also be happy to supply scrolls. Might also be able to front some bone wands and make some wands for a raffle or something. *shrug* We could also wrap up the event with some kind of grand spell melee in the arena, no physical combat allowed, just spells. Or we could do a dueling bracket. Anything to polish our arcane skills. The possibilities are endless!

Yeah, that was my idea as well. The meeting could be used for out first Arcane group up or little events. That's why your idea has merits and why you earn a promotion for making it happen.

The scroll npc still makes more sense though. Think how hard it is to even get 3 members on at once. We live all over the world. Even a scroll selling npc with just a mildly better selection would be a big help.

With that said, we SHOULD organize ASociety runs. I know the little guidance I got went a long way in getting me to stay here. We need to start with a survey of play times, and split meetings would make more sense.

Think about it. Brumm could lead the europe one of course but we have plenty of evening US players.

So... can someone put up a poll?
