I doubt it, because there is a very high arcane caster PRC density that all contribute to your effectiveness overall, and this makes you give up on two of them (leaving you with one) while giving you much higher versatility.
As is, the MT class will always make you give up one of the capstones for any "nuking" build, either high DCs or cold pierce.
The class enables you to make a really fun buff-based mageblade or a support wizard. But a finite amount of stats, feats, prcs and the round based combat system make sure you can only do
a. one role at a time
b. not as effective as a specialist
If anything, the prc outclasses gish builds in their current state. But pure mages prcs? Nah
edit: and a dispell fix will just break warriors and gishes.
