I wouldn't actually say that it's a clear boost with no investment, as it requires you to play an arcane divine build. Instead of it just being a clear boost, I would describe it as a valid method in order to actually be able to pull off a theurge, and the feats lost from not really hitting epic levels in either of the other casting classes seems to be a pretty reasonable trade (at least from the build I've been messing around with).

I agree, *Lomir.
I don't think its always a must to take when giving any way.
It will be nice to see the theurge shine here again.

Fair enough.

However I suspect it'll be the new go-to mage class (much like Frost Mage is/was) - but at least everyone will take 10 levels for the most part.

Probably what is needed is a proper fix to Dispel magic vs Caster Level. That way dips and minimal caster levels would be dispelled in tough areas.

Casters that specialize would logically see better results. Multi and Thurge would have to make tough decisions.

I doubt it, because there is a very high arcane caster PRC density that all contribute to your effectiveness overall, and this makes you give up on two of them (leaving you with one) while giving you much higher versatility.

As is, the MT class will always make you give up one of the capstones for any "nuking" build, either high DCs or cold pierce.

The class enables you to make a really fun buff-based mageblade or a support wizard. But a finite amount of stats, feats, prcs and the round based combat system make sure you can only do
a. one role at a time
b. not as effective as a specialist

If anything, the prc outclasses gish builds in their current state. But pure mages prcs? Nah

edit: and a dispell fix will just break warriors and gishes.

Yeah, I'm glad they reduced the power of the dispels a bit recently.
They can actually get be lame against some builds, and really reducing the fun factor. In many, a given experience.

what is the possibility of this class being able to be used by warlocks?

Warlocks already kind of have a similar class in the Eldritch Disciple class, at least for divine. I thought there was one for Arcane as well, but I can't remember it off the top of my head.

Due to engine limitation, we will not make it to work with warlock.
