Re: Improving Summoned Creatures

The idea is to re-use the code that Brumm developed for the animal companion/golem for summoned creatures.

This code modifies the creature's attributes (AB, HP, AC and others) via a script post-summoning, so the exact blueprint of the original summoned creature is not that important.

Re: Spiders & Pubs

To be fair, only 2/4 parts proposed by Samyx are actually directly achievable by Devs, specifically - XP grinding - Item grinding The other 2 will follow naturally should rewards/effort be worthwhile, and if groups form to do the content. - A place where many players gather and talk about builds, sp...

Improving Summoned Creatures

Hi all, I am thinking of making summons less a waste of a spell slot - maybe this idea could be developed/explored further? We currently have an Animal Companion code that scales the animal companion based on a pet "caster level" from 1-50. I've played with Animal Companions, and although ...

Re: Spiders & Pubs

I see the value of a static zone where players can meet, train and chat all at the same time, but I have concerns that making such an area too rewarding would eclipse any further development, as players would then be better off simply sitting around and farming that one zone all day. We already see ...

Re: Announcing the Change Advisory Board for ROT Development

Ah cool. I would be happy to help then.

Might also be good to balance some people who do higher level play with others with more recent experience running ROT at low levels.

My personal experience tends to skew highly towards 30+ content, and I have not really run ROT1/2 stuff in quite a while.

Re: Announcing the Change Advisory Board for ROT Development

Thanks Mortis, for the vote.

I'd be happy to volunteer, but timezone differences would make it somewhat challenging to organize a chat where I am available to live chat with all other members in an active fashion (GMT +8 here)

Re: Player Numbers and the Future

I'm perfectly willing to bring players along on farm runs. However, newer players are often gated out of the better farming zones like Spiders/Cannibals/Weapons of War due to not progressing sufficiently in the storyline. This means I either: A) Create a new toon to run with them - only really appli...

Re: ***Development Offer***

I think these changes are definitely a step in the right direction to make character building more consistent and intuitive, and to aid in future conyent development.

It definitely will be a lot of work, as simply turning on the plugin without any content adjustment would cause multiple problems.

Re: Nerfing Discussions

An unfortunate side effect of that approach is that you completely obliterate non-fighter set crossbow users - like monk or FS based crossbows just due to a poorly itemized weapon. Base Xbows without Naam's fix are so completely broken that nobody would use it. They get 1 attack, 1 from rapid reload...

Re: Nerfing Discussions

While I do agree that the 3 things stated are indeed somewhat out of tune with the power level of other items/aspects of the server, I do have some concerns with how the adjustments will be implemented. I do understand Tom's view on a nerf being a gut punch, and it should not be something to be take...
