Re: Should Iron Body protect against Mass Drown?

The more ways you take away to hurt players, the more mobs are going to have to find ways around that to be able to hurt the player. Ie. Scripted spells, dispells and the like. I say no, because mass drown is one of that spells that still require concious thought while gearing (ie. do i have enough ...

Re: Prestiege Class Enhancement - Eldrich Knight

I am a tiny bit conflicted about the EK changes now because Tried to build a pure caster Sorc15/EK16/Barb2/AS7 people are going to abuse EK for their AQ casters, just as above. As said, the biggest issue EK's face because they are a MAD class, is that they have to be built in easymode or built with ...

Re: Prestiege Class Enhancement - Eldrich Knight

The change to EK is a good one, and will make the base class much more powerful. Feats are a big choke point for hybrids, they basically never have enough. One thing though that is really holding hybrids back is that you currently need to play them on easymode and ideally dump a whole lot of feats i...

Re: The current state of things

It is of limited use for Eldrich Knights either way, no matter if they have to spend one or two feats for it. Before we adress the acesssability of a feat for them that scales of DC's, we'd for instance better adress, you know, their DC's. Beeing a MAD class as they are, they can choose to cap eithe...

Re: The current state of things

Why the skill focus concentration requirement though? I think skill focus is under the 40 magic skill cap, thus of limited use, can we switch it to something marginaly more useful like spell focus (any) or greater spell penetration, if we have to stick to the two feat requirement.

Re: The current state of things

I am actually planning on making a Red Sock build as I find that the new spell changes means there are viable nukes of every element type - making Frost Mage less essential than before. Moreover, Instill Vulnerability is extremely handy to hit even normally immune mobs with a favored element. Do no...

Re: The current state of things

I am not sure if only heaving one viable wizard build is a good thing, but yes, it works. (and i updated the example build to have the bare bones stuff in there, lest people take it seriously and think i am a total moron.) I still stand by my opinion that mandatory 15 levels of wizard to get a feat ...

Re: The current state of things

The builder is correct, wizard bonus feats and RW bonus feats are limited to AQ 1-3, this is also why a wizard build with RW and many prestige class is limited to a few specific splits to get to AQ 9 by 40. edit: to clarify, this only involves the bonus feats every 5 levels, there are other class de...

Re: The current state of things

I think the only way to get a build with less than 20 Wizard levels to acquire both AQ9 and the new bonus feats requires that both Red Wizard bonus feats (at RW 5 and 10) are used on AQ. Nope. The way to get AQ9 as a wizard without getting bonus purist feats (20+ class levels) is to stagger wizard ...

Re: The current state of things

I get you, my main concern is that you'll end up severly hurting build diversity. The long and short of what i am saying is, that there simply is no need for a harsh class requirement when harsh caster just lets you bypass SR and you still have to worry about DC's. Hybrids, by nature have lower DC's...
