Ok, my current plan is to replace the Mithral Golem with a new Epic Spell called "Epic Warding". So different to the current situation the feat becomes an epic feat. Epic Warding summons a shield around the caster which absorbs 30% of all incoming damage. The shield blocks the slot for sum...

Hm, maybe I go a different route then. We could replace the Mithral Golem with a damage shield like described and redesign the Mirror Golem so that he becomes an useful summon. I played a bit more around with the ideas and think we should not go for an actual companion that uses the AI. The problems we currently have with that would persist even if the creature would be much smaller. At least in my tests a familiar sized creature still annoyed me sometimes. Not as much as ...

There is a replace-exiting-property mechanic and most rune words are using it for example. 1) Hooking into the ondamage event is the worst thing you can do performance wise. Ondamage scripts can run several times a round and thus create a lot of overhead. 2) Yeah, the totem idea is still on the table.
