The fireplace blazes long into the night, and the ruckus from the tavern below fades into distant quiet as the hours burn by.
Sitting at the desk in his quarters, JD studies the Book of Storms, with occasional searches through another rare and valuable tome he "acquired" many months ago, The ancient tome telling the tale of the Crimson King,..which is also in the same ancient arcane language.
A spitting sound accompanied by a cork bouncing off his shoulder from behind interrupts his study.
JD- *Rubbing his temples as he turn to look at Mathias* "now what is the call for that?"
Mathias - *shrugs* "you work to hard at those books brother"
JD- "you know full well why i must master these words and the power contained within them"
Mathias- "Aye, i know, but *shrugs* taking a break once in a while might help your studies"
JD- *shakes head* "time runs short and there is still too much i don't have or know"
Mathias- "Ohh and what? like those fools running about chasing their tails are gonna stand in the way?,...PhfffT" *slugs back from a bottle of wine* "just take a few minutes to have a drink or two and give your eyes a break, you'll do neither of us any good if by the time you learn that stuff you cant remember the why of it"
JD- *with a sigh, gets up and walks over to the other chair in front of fireplace and holds out his hand for an accompanying bottle Mathias already has sitting there* "ok, but not too much time here, there are more things than just these books or that group of morons that call themselves hero's to content with..."
Mathias- "as always......." *hands over a bottle of wine to JD*
JD- *pulls cork out with teeth and spits it into fire before taking back a good swig*
"i have heard a rumor on who's currently in possession of the next tome, we will make plans as soon as its been confirmed..."
Mathias- *raises a brow as taking another swig* "interesting,....so I'm guessing that we'll be making the run to reclaim those other artifacts you stashed soon as well then?"
JD- *just nods and tosses back a long slug from bottle while starring into the fire before him*
