Where to begin?
Humble Beginnings...
My grandfather is a good man. He grew up on a farm, and is no stranger to hard work. When he came of age, he did his duty, and served as a soldier in the military for six years. When his service ended, he returned home. He married his childhood love, and took over his father's farm. A few years later, my mother was born.
My mother is a beautiful woman, with a kind heart, and a bright soul, but a very strong person, like my grandfather. She grew up on the farm, and is also no stranger to hard work.
As the story goes, a dragon descended upon our village. A band of adventurers showed up to battle the dragon. They were lead by a Moon Elven Arcane Archer. The band defeated the dragon, and a grand celebration followed.
The archer was an adventurer, and a very exotic person. It was love at first sight between he and my mother. After much wine and celebration, my mother and father went off alone together to share the night. The next morning, the adventuring troupe was gone. Nine months later, I came along.
I inherited my mother's and grandfather's work ethic, but I also inherited my father's adventurous spirit. I grew up on the farm, working hard and doing the best that I could. I practiced archery every day in my spare time, and it came naturally to me. I started at a very young age. Even though I appreciated the hard work, I found the farm life very dull. My family saw this, and understood that life on the farm was not for me. They also felt I lacked discipline, and if I were to start travelling the realms as they foresaw, this would cause me great trouble.
I had always been captivated by my grandfather's war stories. So when I became a young man, he suggested that I serve in the military. I did so, as an archer, and served for six years as my grandfather had done. My family was right. This gave me the discipline I so sorely needed.
After my service, I spent a bit of time with my family, sharing my own war stories, before I began my exploration of the realms.
The life of adventure is just what I wanted, and needed. I took to it well, and have been from one end of the realms to the other.
After one such adventure, I went to the nearest town to sell my bounty. It was there that I came upon a beautiful High Elven Arcane Archer. Remembering the stories of my father, I approached her and asked her to teach me. She promptly refused, sighting that a "half blood" was not worthy of such skills. Not to be deterred, I used my stealth abilities and followed her. For many months I spied upon her as she taught her apprentice, and I learned the skills I so desperately wanted. I began to notice very quickly, that their relationship was more than teacher and student. As it turns out, this haughty elf, who believed she was so high and mighty, was actually an exile. She was exiled from her order for this inappropriate relationship with this very student. So much for "elven perfection". It seems elves are just as scandalous as humans.
After I had acquired the skills I needed, and when I could not stomach to look upon her any longer, I moved on.
My travels took me to even more exotic locations, and I have made many friends, and even a few enemies.
One such friend, is a Half-Elven Avenger. He has quite the chip on his shoulder, but he is good man and a good friend. He feels Half-Elves do not receive the respect they deserve, and I can't disagree with him. He offered to teach me his very useful skills, and I took an oath to help our brothers whenever the need arises. The tactics are brutal and shady, but they are very effective nonetheless.
Many years and adventures have passed since then, though it sometimes seems like this all happened yesterday. It's hard to believe I am already 37yrs old. But thanks to my Half-Elven blood, I am still physically a young man. I find it quite amusing that many don't seem to understand the difference between my appearance, and my age and experience. Over the years, I have learned to be a bit jaded on occasion, but I still know when to laugh.
My travels now bring me to the city called Trinity, where much evil is afoot. There is much adventure and wealth to be had. I think I'll stay here awhile, and see what kind of trouble I can get into.
