Okay folks, we just introduced into the beta a new widget that will flag your player as a RP/PvP player. Using this widget will set the color of your toon's name to red. This allows people to distinguish RPers from the rest of the crowd. Please note that if you use this widget, you WILL be open to PvP. PvP between players in this fashion should be only used in RP context. This is NOT an open invitation to randomly kill and harass people. This tool only shows that you consent to RP PvP with other people that use it. Please note that you are NOT required to use this tool to RP if you do not wish to PvP.
Examples of conduct based on color of name:
Normal vs. Normal = Follows originally posted PvP rules. I.E. Save it for the arena.
Normal vs. Red = Follows originally posted PvP rules.
Red vs. Red = PvP is allowed ANYWHERE as long as there is an RP reason behind it. Otherwise, save it for the arena.
If there are any questions, feel free to ask them.

Well not to beat a dead horse but if your saying you'd like a widget for "RP" then wouldn't the widget kinda be a moot point? I mean the point of languages in general was to force players to group up in my opinion. I've played alot of RP and it puts an intersting spin on it when you have to have an interpreter, to say the least. If your an RP junkie like I am then I hope you'll see what I mean. As always, thanks for the feedback

i like all aspects of pws. rp, building, making interesting characters, quests, dm quests, adventuring, social interaction, ooc commentary. well, i dont really like grinding, but i do it becuz it's necessary to achieve ers . language widgets were always fun on nwn 1 pws. speaking in thieves' cant, dwarven, elven, etc, was fun, and thieves' cant was something only rogues got. wizard with er4 int, could speak them all. currently, i use tells in place of languages, IE, drogo makes hand gestures to jd, then i send kama a tell

The RP/PvP Widget is currently disabled until further notice. It was causing a few problems that initially went unseen.

I just integrated the pvp widget fixes on Beta and all looks good. I will be rolling this out today ( Sunday ) at some point in the late morning. There will be a small download time, but nothing crazy. edited by bbloom on 1/17/2010

For those of you who don't already know, the widget has been slightly modified. It no longer changes your name color to red as that was causing problems. It now shows a small PvP symbol above your head. Also, I added in an AFK mode toggle that players can use when they decide to take a break so that people aren't trying to talk to someone that isn't really there.
