If there's a topic already I seem to have missed it. Can someone either point me at it or explain please?

ok,

For those that missed this topic before:

WISH SHARDS and how they work 101

A wish shard is a valuable commodity in the realms nowadays.
they are given as DM rewards and as a rarer drop in high chapters and quests.

Currently they are able to do a limited number of things, but we are working on expanding that to do an amazing amount of options as we continue to develop the module.

When you receive a wish shard it will show in your inventory as a little misc object with the icon of a crystal fragment. in this form they can be traded amongst players or placed in bags and storage chests with no issues.

To be able to redeem them in the trinity Arcane shop first you must right-click>use-item on them, which will make them transfer to your accounts DataBase record, then you will be able to talk to the guy and he can read and tell you how many you have, or allow you to redeem them for a few currently offered things.

Currently offered is:
a set gold amount per level of pc redeeming it
or
a set XP amount per level of pc redeeming it
or
a BoH (Bag of Holding), costs 5 shards
or
Boots of speed (perma haste on a pair of boots) costs 5 shards

NEW OPTIONS ( As of 3/18/2010 )

2 Wish Shards - 10 Pack of Greater Restoration
2 Wish Shards - Shard of Health ( +2 HP for each one in inventory )
12 Wish Shards - Shard of Electrical Immunity ( 30% Immunity )
12 Wish Shards - Shard of Cold Immunity ( 30% Immunity )
12 Wish Shards - Shard of Fire Immunity ( 30% Immunity )
12 Wish Shards - Shard of Acid Immunity ( 30% Immunity )
3 Wish Shards - Potions of Forced Rest ( Restores spells, HP, Removes Effects, Etc. Can be used at any time )

****DISCLAIMER -- gold,xp, and item costs to change at discretion of Development Team with or without warning as team see's fit to maintain the desired balance within RoT****

I don't think immunity of that nature stacks. It will take the largest value and use that.

No, they do not stack, nor are they supposed to.

Can a character carry one of each type, offering 30% immunity to each damage type?

If you have an immunity shard then cast energy immunity for that type will you run into a problem like the Deathward/Shadow Shield issue.

Not that I've ever noticed. The Energy Immunity spell overlaps the Shard Immunity rather than stacks with it.

What EI actually does is that it gives damage resistance of something like 9999. I think it's Kaedrin's fix.

We have doubled the number of wish shards to be given as donation gifts per below:

Donations for Wish Shards

For a $5.00 US donation, we will give you 4 *Wish Shards. (*Please read forum for Wish Shard details.)

Note: It used to be 2 Wish Shards for $5.00.

Seeing as that is a 20.01% mark-down I assume you are playing an ECL 2 race. Keep in mind that exp awards from wish shards are based on your characters level as well as the ECL/multi-class penalty modifications.

I beleive it is accurate.

Correct, your effective XP gained is based on your ECL. All handled at the engine, not our code.

To Clarify, I believe this isn't an ECL Issue (ECL doesn't make you get less experience, it makes it take more experience to gain a level).

This is most certainly an due to multiclass penalty, as one MC penalty is -20%.

Only your Highest base class does not count as a human. The penalty is for the third class being so far from the second class. You will get this penalty on every xp gain, including kills, quest rewards, and wish shards.

No, we are very careful not to put certain immunities on items, especially items that are for sale or acquired via wish shards.
