A funny thing happened on the way to the Bronze Citadel. I was assisting Yip Man in dealing a blow to the infernal powers of that fortress, when somehow, every Fractured Soul of Cain in Hell manifested in an effort to drive us back. Yip Man was quickly laid low, but I fought on for over an hour, dissolving, incinerating, and blasting devils to dust. But either my own invocations went awry, or the fell powers of the Bronze Citadel were too strong. Time started to slow, then practically come to a halt. As I blasted the nearest twenty fiends, I could see my arcane aura arcing from devil to devil -- something that normally happens in the blink of an eye. Finally, my arcane blasts themselves stopped moving, as did the devil's flailing talons. I feared that my powers and the evil might of Hell was tearing a rift in the fabric of the cosmos. Even if I defeated them all, the price to our realm might be too high, and so, gathering Yip Man's lifeless corpse, I apported myself back to the normal time-streams of Trinity. But I managed invoke a permanent illusion of the battle, as testimony to my deeds, which I shall put on display at the tavern.
