I have read through the boards, and I have some concerns for shifting.
My new character was donated some very nice equipment by generous players and when I got to be old enough to use wildshape, it was slightly underwhelming.
Lost all my bonus spell slots (this was not unexpected from the wisdom thing) even though the Druid belt gives bonus spells for each level.
Melee damage is horrible. No bonus damage from the weapon (again, not unexpected).
AC was floored, and this was disappointing.
There is this mythical Druid Shifter that is spoken of on the boards about being effective. But I cannot figure out who it is, or even if they still play here.
What I would like to know is going to 30 druid and picking up dragonshape, is it comparable to other builds who can complete the chapters?
I am not looking for a pvp monster, just something that will let me enjoy pushing through the different episodes here.
Also, which item slots actually allow stats to be pushed through (rings do not seem to work).
Thank you for taking the time to read this and those who respond, thank you as well.

I'm not entirely familiar with druids, but I'll try to help you the best I can.
-Racial stuff is removed when shifted, you become the race that you just shifted into(ie, dragon); I think that includes bonus to AC, skill affinities, AND bonuses to stats. -Bonus to AC from the shield and armor don't stack, The highest of the two only counts. -You are considered unfettered(I think). This opens the doors for classes like duelist and monk to boost AC. -Some shapes have a DEX of 8... So it should be expected to have a hard time getting a good AC. -There is a bug with the auto-save function(every 15 min) that messes up buffs. It will be removed eventually, but I don't know when. -Your best bet is to check the nwnwiki for more info: link. There is also Mahe(Lord Mahe of the Creek) that has been trying to make a workable druid toon for a while(he has made quite a few at least). So he might be able to give you some insight.
Hope I've helped Jony

Thanks for the reply.
I know about the silly auto save bug.. ridiculous.
I look forward to more who have insight into this obviously buggy part of the druid Class.

The auto save was removed already. You save only when you rest now or when you manually save with the widget.
