I come from a small village in the Great Dale's Forest of Lethyr. I was born 20 years after the big war between the inhabitants of the Forest of Lethyr and the Demons bound beneath the Forest of Dunwood to the North. The village I grew up in is very close to the city of Yeshelmaar where my mother and father are part of the Circle of Leth.
While growing up I took a slightly different path than my parents. I followed the teachings of a Wise Ranger named Bryce Landonith. Bryce often spoke of his life prior to coming to the Great Dale. One of great heart ache in the South of the Dalelands. I grew close to the wise old elf. Often times spending many days away from my village on camping and huntung trips with Bryce.
Not too long ago Bryce became very ill. For weeks I would not leave his side hoping that he would pull through. No amount of divine healing could save him though and he soon past. It was just his time I figured. He gave me one piece of advice before he died.
Ethan, Get out and see the world. Don't stay here forever.
Seeing as there really wasn't anything for me left here other than my mother and father, I promised him just that. My mother and father have always been disappointed in me for not following in their footsteps, so that one day I too could be part of the Circle of Leth. It just is not the life that I want.
So I decided to head out towards the Dalelands to hopefully see the areas that Bryce spoke so much of, even if it did leave some bad tastes in his mouth. Although my family wasn't too happy, I boarded the Merchant ship "The Piece" to the southern shores of Sembia. That was as far as they would take me. From here I decided to explore Sembia on my way north to the Dalelands.
