Starting at noon on the 17th this month, i will be hosting a series of interconnected events. All of them will cover a certain chapter of the same story. My plan is to progress with the story in an interval of 2 weeks time. Silver Adapt's rules will apply to all of my events as well. I'll use this thread to announce the necessary details as well as post summaries of finished events, so that players can follow what happened. One thing i want to mention here is: The outcome of one event will influence the next one in some way or another. What exactly happens depends on how you behave/act during the events, I will post those consequences here after the respective event is finished. The first event is over, i have posted a summary a few posts below. The second part of this series will take place in 2 weeks time (may 1st), sunday noon est. This time, the requirements to join are at least lvl 25 and access to hlintar. Minimum amount of participants is 5.
UPDATED - The 3. part The date i'm eyeing for this one is Sat, June 6th, 2 pm EST (7 pm UTC). You will need access to Chapter 2.4 (first part of the Underdark). Minimum number of players is 5, although more will make your task easier.
As a special service to make planning easier for you, i offer you to add your names to a list of participiants here if you pm me.
Participiants as of yet (for the 3rd): - Pyrotics - Mythaluk - Joebob - Zorteper
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
List of dates so far: 1. 4/17 *done* 2. 5/8 *done* 3. 6/4, 2pm est *new*

That was the first part of the series, thanks to all participants for staying till the end despite the heavy lag/connection problems i faced. As promised, here's a little summary so that everyone knows what happened in case they want to join in the next event of the series.
Answering a call for help from Daerlun, the heros of Trinity hurried to the prince of said town to hear the details of their worries. Here they heard that a very important person, an ambassador has been abducted by Kern's bandits. Daerlun's government received a blackmail letter demanding 500 million gold for the captive. Naturally the prince refused and asked the heros of Trinity for help. Their mission was to retrieve the ambassador for he holds very valuable information which must not fall into the wrong hands. The heros were asked to 'avoid fights wherever possible' and to not provoke or harm kern. This might sound strange, yet the prince had reasons for this. After the briefing, the heros started this undertaking immediately and went to the guard watching the merchant trail. Once they passed him, they almost immediately discovered a large group of bandit that barricaded the trail, only leaving a small gap in the barricade to pass through. Those bandits even used tamed beholders to guard against invisible intruders. Although the trail was heavily guarded, the bandits forgot to guard the smaller way leading through the dunes. The heros realised this as well, yet they tried to negotiate with the bandits instead of avoiding them. A major battle ensued, the heros were victorious and continued onwards. The camp itself was guarded heavily by bandits, tamed beholders and wolves. After a failed attempt to avoid them while being invisible, the heros had to fight and kill them. Afterwards they proceeded to the bandit leader's house where the ambassador was held captive. After they failed with sneaking inside and freeing the ambassador without spilling blood, they intruded by force, killing everyone but the prison guard. They forced him to upon the prison door and fled, together with the ambassador, after they locked the guard in the cell he guarded before. The heros arrived in Daerlun safely, the ambassador was unharmed. But the bandits lost their leader, whom they repected. They have sworn revenge and therefore will get involved in that matter even more. In the beginning it was just a ransom they wanted, now it became a personal grudge... edited by GaryBlack on 4/17/2011

Alrighty. It took me a while, but here is it. The summary of part 2 of the series:
After the ambassador was saved, Daerlun's Prince decided to find a gift suited for his targeted negotiation party so that they will be more likely to accept the Prince's proposal for an alliance. He decided to consult a sage who is very well versed with lore of old, ancient artifacts and literature. This sage named Baroy found a poem written by a diviner of old ages. It describes the locations of 'tokens of power', powerful magical artifacts, and predicts that those will be recovered to help some negotiations with former hostiles. The Prince decided to assign the task of retrieving them to the heros of Trinity. This poem reads as following:
Long lost glory of the old rotting in the cold
once again will their tokens of power be searched for to appeal an old enemy
one stolen, yet on the old path still the thief's rest became eternal one lost on a one-way road higher than the vicinity
one guarded by a man of stone hidden in a lizard-like's cave behind a broken rondel, within a triangle a living plant holds the fourth
the fifth buried above and besides ancient ruins the final piece behind a veil of flames
Guided by Baroy, the heros set out to find these artifacts. Their first challenge was to solve the riddles of this poem verse by verse as Baroy recited it to them. Before they could even start to search for the artifacts, the heros had to figure out the location which was hinted at in the first 2 lines. They decided to try the ancient path starting in Hlintar. While searching for the first 2 tokens the heros were attacked by bandits seeking revenge for the death of their leader Kern. The heros managed to fight them off, but have been suprise attacked by beholders Baroy summoned to help the heros yet lost control of them. Luckily nothing serious happened and they could continue their search. Trinity's heros haven proven their exceptional spot skills on this path - they discovered 2 very tiny magical runes hidden between an old corpse (first one) and frozen roots (second one). Continuing onwards they had to fight through a cave full of cobolds and liches to find the third piece. Outside a treant held the fourth. However, it did not want to hand it over to 'fleshlings'. Cunning as they were, the heros used barkskin and persuasion to transform one of them into a 'little sapling'. Said treant happily handed the token over to this sappling. A hard fight ensued at the bridge head of the bridge to the ancient ruined. The heros had to fight terrible and huge machines, remainders of the ancients whose very artifacts they were searching for. With the help of an earthquake-spell they could excavate the fifth token. At this point they were clueless about the last verse but decided to continue on, entering the ancient ruins and fighting their way through to the end. This turned out to be the right decision as the 'veil of flames' was directly behind the throne of an ancient construct. However, it was physically unreachable. The construct offered its help, but it wanted the heros to beg, discard their pride. They did. And retrieved the last artifact. Sage Baroy is positive that all those artifacts will come to be very useful in the tasks that are yet to come (the diplomat in event 3 will be harder to kill)
Details on the 3. and (currently) last part can be found in the first post. edited by GaryBlack on 5/24/2011
