Well, You shouldn't have over 144 spells. It will cause issues. Being you were overlapping your spells, you could have easily done that. You may want to make a note of that when you make your new toon.

Yes, but not appropriate - all. A generalist wizzy's greatest strength is a full book.

Underground,
Is this the toon that you were killing over and over again to de-level him so that you could re-apply different and more appropriate spells to your wizzy book w/o having to recreate the character?

Fair enough... I wasn't sure if you had a nightly backup or some such to which you could pull since it all occurred in a day.
As far as the level that was taken, I tried both Daggerspell Mage and Wizard to the same effect. The only thing of note per say, is that all spells were finally put into the book. While I can't imagine that I'm the first to have a full book, perhaps some of the duplication of K's Orb spells with the standard ones?!?
Reaching at straws here... But if that were to be it, I'd do it again (better safe than sorry).

As I have stated previously, I cannot load your character at all. Not even to remove a level or levels from it. I wish I could for your sake, but it's hamburger helper. Yes, you can wait to get the XP at a later date if that suits you.

As far as items, it was nothing extravagant by any means: Cain's boots, Sly Sliver(?) dagger, two other daggers of similar strength w/ chain lightning on hit I think, diamond robes, cloak +5, int ring +4 and the rest I can re-acquire as I level it I'm sure.
Regarding, the loading of the bic file... if you can take a level off and it may load. Perhaps the way it occurred would provide some insight:
1) The character leveled in the blood sands (and I took the level) 2) next transition (don't recall to where) CRASH 3) logged into limbo and I again took the level 4) transition to town - CRASH 5) repeat steps 3 & 4 6) logged into limbo and transitioned to town 7) took level and transition to blood sands - CRASH 8) logged in with other character and transitioned with no effect 9) logged in with troubled toon, took level, saved, transition, CRASH 10) cleared out hak & overrides 11) attempted log in with troubled toon and crash on load
As far as the XP and gold, neither is necessary but since you are offering: can it be taken at a later time. I'd like to re-fill up the wizzy book before gaining too many levels at once. I like a good clean and full book.
Thanks again and my apologies for any and all hassles. edited by UM on 9/8/2010

Ched Nasad
Ched Nasad is a drow city.
The City of Shimmering Webs, Ched Nasad, was constructed in a cavern shaped like a cone with the tip pointing downwards. The various levels and the more influential buildings in the city are made out of extra thick spiderweb strands, thus giving the city its name. It was not featured prominently in the Realms until the War of the Spider Queen series, where duergar mercenaries in the employ of the Vhaeraunite group Jaezred Chaulssin, inadverdantly destroyed it through copious use of stonefire bombs, which were much more effective on the webs that held it together than on stone. Out of the 30,000 drow who made up the city's population, around 3,000 survived the disaster.

I love the login name "UM". Short and simple, but yet creative! LOL
Anyhow, as for your character. I cannot get it to load at the present in my bic editor or the client. It even crapped the bed loading into the stand alone game. My thinking is that your character file got corrupted somehow. But that is the best guess that I can come up with.
I will spot you 406009 XP, and 26690 GP ( your last recorded XP and gold from the database ) for a new character.
PS. Let any available DM know, and they will take care of you. edited by bbloom on 9/8/2010

What stuff did you lose? If it turns out that it is gone then I'm sure a few people will be willing to help you restock.

The build itself is very similar to one of my own
More STR and Steadfast Determination. Combat Expertise is a mixed bag and I'm not sure it is worth two feats. Maybe Persist spell would be handy (persistent weapon of energy is always nice and despite the fact that a Swiftblade extended haste lasts a very long time they still have a habit of running out in combat).
Weapon Focus would also be useful but only really if you have decided on a weapon. If you are thinking of a bastard sword you could ditch Monkey Grip too.
Don't think I've seen the Armour of the General. Who drops that and what are its details? edited by The_Mighty_Bob on 9/8/2010

Sorry to hear it was my character... Two questions though.
Was it something I had done (so, I can avoid doing so in the future)?
I'm not ultimately concerned about reclaiming the XP as it was a lower level character, I would however like whatever goodies it had (though the accomplished quests *groan* were at my highest so far in the game). If that is possible? I'm a noob to the server and most everything on it was gifted by kind souls in the game.
To everyone who's game I had disrupted while figuring out the problem, I apologize (delayed message as I had not yet signed up for the forums).

I guess you want to do full plate melee spellblade with (a shield? and) a huge weapon. I'd take another weapon and drop monkey grip for blind fight. I'd drop toughness for a weapon focus as well. But that's a matter of taste, it should work out like this, imo. edited by GaryBlack on 9/8/2010

yeah, you would need to use a standard +5 sling or use throwing axes (there are some nice drops), plus they can be enchanted with elemental bonus damage

That's cool, but as far as I can remember, there are no sling drops in RoT.

I was also trying to make a decent damage dealing Halfling slinger. Its just such an inferior weapon to a longbow. The only advantage was shield use.
Are there any epic slings in Trinity? Or come to think of it any modifications to throwing weapons stack sizes?( shuriken, darts, axes ) I always liked the idea of a Halfling axe chucking Stormlord Assasin.
Throwing weapons (including slings) do have an advantage over bows: They add the full STR modifier to damage without the need for might, which means you can get up to +20 damage from STR instead of the measly +8 a longbow can get. Get a few levels of Fighter and/or EA (F + EA would mean dropping either stormlord or assasin) and you are set. Some of the bow feats even work for throwing weapons, I just tested it. (Improved) Rapid shot and Manyshot work, not too sure about one shot 'cuz I don't have it ;-)
